Here's the typical pattern when you're doing an at home weight loss plan, whether you're following a structured program like Weight Watchers (TM), eating off a low glycemic index foods list like the one I recommend, or any other plan you've found. You get excited and committed to losing weight, you read all the materials and learn what you need to do and you stock the cupboards with the right foods. You may tell your friends you're on a diet and "don't tempt me" with stuff. You vow this time it's going to be different and you're going to reach your goal. And STAY there! And off you go.
You follow the plan for a few weeks and start losing weight. Maybe you even work in treats so you don't feel deprived and you still lose weight. This is fantastic and you feel great!
Somewhere along the way, maybe a month in, maybe a little more, something happens to derail you. It's only a temporary setback, but it seems easy not to follow the plan. And hey, you're doing so well, you can take a little break, and it'll be OK. You'll get right back on track in a couple days.
And maybe you do. But I bet if you're reading this that you got back on track and then something else derailed you. Don't feel bad, the reasons we get off track are as complicated and personal as the reasons we gained weight. That's a little example and not a very important one, either. This one page on my website won't make a huge difference in how my day goes today, but it is one piece of a big plan I have to further my life. My unconscious stopped me twice from writing it. When I woke up at 5:10 this morning, this page was on my mind, and I knew it was time to do it.
If you can learn how to still those sabotaging messages from your unconscious, and train it to look for solutions, your success rate in anything goes up exponentially.
