Electric mobility scooters can make all the difference if you suffer from arthritis of the spine, hips, knees, or ankles. Getting around when you're in pain is difficult, but you still have your life a life to live. A mobility scooter can get you out of the house and enjoying activities again!

There are some things to be aware of when looking for a scooter. First, will you be using it for both home and outdoor use? If so, you'll want one that is slightly narrower, so you can maneuver around your house.

Do you need a lightweight one that can be easily transported (these are better for part time use... if your arthritis flares up only once in a while), or a more heavy duty one for daily use? From most expensive (and durable) to least expensive (and generally more lightweight) here are the electric medical scooters I recommend.

Pride Mobility Legend, 4 Wheel Scooter

This scooter is solidly built, has 4 wheels for the most stability, and is extremely comfortable. It maneuvers well for its size, has a basket to hold your things, and has a high back recliner with headrest. This model is best for outside the home.

Pride Mobility Legend, 3 Wheel Scooter

This scooter has most of the features of the 4 Wheel version, but weighs a little less and is a little more maneuverable. It will easily get you wherever you need to go. It's best for outside the home.

Active Care Medical Pilot Mobility Scooter

This is a narrow scooter (less than 2 feet across) that still has a 350 lb. capacity. It sports a captains chair and an adjustable tiller so the controls are where you want them. it's good for indoor and outdoor use.

4 Wheel Power Mobility Electrical Medical Scooter

This is an indoor/outdoor medical scooter with a 250 lb. capacity. It's lighter weight than the above ones, and would be good for indoor or light outdoor use.
