Gout levels on the rise in the U.S.

A recent news article states that gout levels doubled in the U.S. from the 1960’s to the 1990’s.

At the same time, high blood pressure and obesity levels have also risen at alarming rates.

It shouldn’t be any surprise that a main culprit of these changes is the affordability and access to cheap food. Unfortunately while we’re paying less for what we eat, we’re more than making up for it on health care costs.

Before the downturn in the economy, 50% of all personal bankruptcies were due to medical issues… and 2/3 of those people had health insurance.

If that statistic doesn’t scare you, it should. If you get sick, you probably can’t afford it.

Luckily, there is a solution to preventing gout along with all those other health concerns. Make better choices on the food you eat and watch your health change.

Instead of relying on processed foods, eat whole, fresh foods. Make vegetables or fruit half of your meals. Eat lean proteins, and limit your use of grains (wheat, including flour, rice, corn, etc.). If it seems simple, it is.

When you shop, don’t even go down the center aisles of the grocery store. This is where the foods that lead to gout live.

Chronic diseases all have the same root cause and tend to show up together. The good news is that there is usually one natural solution to all of them.

Let food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food
